Jocelyn Cooper, ND

Dr. Cooper graduated from Bastyr University with her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and from Iowa State University with a BS in Zoology and a minor in Spanish.  She completed a General Family Practice residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health where she had the opportunity to practice primary care medicine in community clinics throughout Seattle.  Dr. Cooper has a background in midwifery care and extensive training in women’s health and pediatrics.

Before beginning medical school, Dr. Cooper spent the majority of her time in the field working for an outdoor leadership company in Alaska, Washington and Mexico.  During that period, Dr. Cooper gained an appreciation for the fundamentals of health and recognized the value of simple things: sunshine, fresh air, movement, whole food and mindfulness.  Her philosophy of medicine is rooted in the belief that, given the right tools, the body has the ability to heal itself.  She focuses on identifying the cause of disease and removing obstacles that prevent individual wellness.  Dr. Cooper believes that advocating for her patients, with an emphasis on prevention, is the core of medicine and she brings this belief to each patient relationship.

Dr. Cooper uses an integrative and patient-centered approach to care.  She utilizes lifestyle counseling, nutrition, botanical medicine and physical medicine modalities.

Dr. Cooper believes in staying active within her community and enjoys backcountry skiing, kayaking, climbing and running.
